From 13 to 17 May 2026, the Abuja velodrome in Nigeria hosted the African Track Championships. 87 riders from nine nations competed, and South Africa topped the medal table.

The African Track Championships were held from 13 to 17 May 2026 at the Abuja velodrome in Nigeria. 87 riders from nine nations took part: Algeria, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, the Gambia, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The elite medal table

  • South Africa: 11 gold, 6 silver, 7 bronze.
  • Egypt: 6 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze.
  • Algeria: 3 gold, 9 silver, 4 bronze.
  • Nigeria: 2 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze.
  • Benin: 2 silver, 1 bronze.

South Africa's Jean Spies won the sprint, the keirin and the kilometre, and Egypt's Shahd Mohamed the sprint, the keirin and the time trial. The hosts, Nigeria, won the men's team sprint and the women's team pursuit.
