Kenya hosts the CAC African Road Championships for the third year running, this time in Kisumu, on the shores of Lake Victoria, from 21 to 25 October 2026.

The CAC African Road Championships will take place from 21 to 25 October 2026 in Kisumu, Kenya. Lesotho, the planned host, withdrew for lack of funding; the CAC then turned to Kenya, whose Sports Cabinet Secretary, Salim Mvurya, proposed Kisumu. It is the third edition in a row in Kenya, after Eldoret in 2024 and Diani in 2025.

According to the Governor of Kisumu County, Anyang' Nyong'o, more than 30 countries and more than 300 riders are expected in 15 categories, and the races will be broadcast live.

The programme

  • Tuesday 20 October: accreditation and team managers' meetings.
  • Wednesday 21 October: junior, under-23 and elite individual time trials.
  • Thursday 22 October: elite and under-23 mixed relay, youth road races.
  • Friday 23 October: junior women's (68.8 km) and junior men's (119.8 km) road races.
  • Saturday 24 October: elite and under-23 women's road race (122.2 km).
  • Sunday 25 October: elite and under-23 men's road race (175.2 km).
